End of Year Report

As we are heading toward the end of the year, we thought we would let our supporters in Killyleagh & Shrigley know how we are donating our money.

This year we have donated to several groups and charities within Killyleagh and Northern Ireland. So far we have donated to

  • Killyleagh Integrated Primary and St Mary’s Primary (to help buy equipment and fund activities)
  • Killyleagh Girls Brigade (allowing them to support families by buying the girls uniforms)
  • Killyleagh Football Club (to help with equipment and kit)
  • The Men’s Shed, Killyleagh Branch (to help them with materials)
  • Killyleagh Mums & Tots in both the Bridge Centre and Killyleagh Tots (to support their breakfast and equipment needs)
  • Raffrey Boys Brigade (a donation towards their trip to Uganda)
  • Killyleagh Youth & Community Association (to support the VE celebration)
  • Killyleagh Community Association (for children attending the Christmas Festival)

In the wider Northern Ireland community, we have donated to

  • Cancer Fund for Children (NI)
  • Daisy Lodge
  • Dementia NI
  • Rosie’s Trust (for rehoming pets)
  • Brainwaves NI (brain tumor support)
  • Sense NI for the Deaf and Blind
  • Crisis NI and Centrepoint (for the homeless and young homeless)
  • Downpatrick Foodbank (as they supply food and daily necessities to those in need)

We also gave to International Charities and Appeals:

  • Myanmar Earthquake Appeal
  • Water Aid
  • Brighter Communities
  • and others

We also sponsor a child through World Vision.

This year our Christmas Charity Hamper Raffle is in aid of The Children’s Hospice NI.

So why not stop in and have a browse, perhaps buy a raffle ticket £1 per sheet, and know you are helping Killyleagh & Shrigley area, Northern Ireland and the Wider World. A full list of our donations will be displayed early in the new year.

We also want to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful, dedicated team of Volunteers, without whom, there wouldn’t be a Community Shop. It is their willingness that makes Killyleagh Community Shop special.
