Sea Cadets

Purpose & activities

To give young people a head-start in life through nautical training, adventure and fun. Sea Cadets helps teenagers to stretch themselves and become the best they can be. We know what that takes because we’ve been doing it for over 160 years.

For young people aged 10 – 18.

Governing charity
Marine Society & Sea Cadets.

Activities

  • Afloat: sailing, rowing, paddlesports, powerboating, offshore voyages.
  • Shorebased: seamanship, navigation, meteorology, first aid, marine engineering, catering & stewarding, aviation, adventurous training, DofE, physical training, sea survival, VHF radio.

When & where

Term-time:
Thursday evenings 1845 – 2100. Clonaver ARC (off the Holywood Rd), Belfast, BT4 2EZ.

Spring & Summer:
Boating & outdoor activities at various locations: Minnowburn, Lower Lagan, Killyleagh.
